The Christians of C.I.M. Are in Need
Our Brother Carlos Rodriguez sent this letter at the end of June asking for support for him and the other believers on C-Yard in the Chino California Institute for Men. While incarcerated it is very difficult to access materials and books concerning our faith in general, let alone those concerning Reformed Theology. Even a small amount of support would go a great way in helping the men inside grow in their faith and share the wonderful Gospel of Christ with those who are also incarcerated. Please share this letter with other believers as we strive to bring more attention and awareness to Judas’ House prison Ministry and the needs of those incarcerated.

To: Elder James Anguiano and those willing to support Judas’ House Reformed Prison Ministries,
My name is Carlos and I am a reformed brother of 55 years of age. I have recently started to attend the courses brother James has in mind for us. He labors for us and is a fine example of an obedient servant for the Lord, many are inspired to learn here at CIM “C” yard chapel.
We brothers have prayed that God would bring us a minister that would bring us the unaltered Word of God, and through prayers, hope, and patience our minister is here. Recently, we have encountered an obstacle of sorts and I would personally like to appeal to the charity and kindness of anyone that reads this letter. We are in need of materials namely 60 books (minimum), our brother James wants to teach us out of, one of the authors is Sinclair Ferguson.
I cannot stress the importance of us prisoners learning sound doctrine from these books. However, as prisoners we do not have jobs to obtain the money we need to buy these books, at present there are about 20 inmates x 3 books maybe more who are hungry to learn reformed based material.
Brother James who wants us to have these books available would suffer a heavy burden in purchasing these books, we reformers know however that we are a body and as such the body of Christ has the Spirit of Christ that moves the hearts of His children to provide for other parts of the body that lack.
Paul in his letter to the Corinthians seeks the support from his flock. We here at CIM “C” yard are a little flock in need and I make a plea through Paul’s letter here in 1 CORINTHIANS 9:9-12 “For it is written in the law of Moses: ‘Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.’ Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely he says this for us, doesn’t he? Yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hopes of sharing in the harvest. If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? If others have this right of support from you, shouldn’t we have it all the more?” I know brother James is not an apostle, however in principle he is the proverbial ox and he is laboring to tread at the grain here at CIM “C” yard. Spiritual seed has been shared amongst you by brother James or other that labor in the same capacity. His support, or rather the support he needs for had given me/us the opportunity to make manifest his appeal through us.
We are in a unique position for these men to understand the Gospel message truly and efficaciously. Please, open your heart for the Spirit to speak to you in regard to the support needed for this ministry that is just starting.
In another place Paul says 2 TIM. 2:10 “Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.” Some of these men are elect they themselves as we, do not know who, yet we plant. Let us with a same spirit endure for the sake of the elect as brother James is doing with his limited time and resources.
I want to thank you with a heavenly gratitude. I am humbled to know that you would read this letter and perhaps help a prisoner like others and I here at CIM “C” yard. I hope that you would likewise receive the love I include in this letter as well as a brotherly hug.
In Christ,
Carlos Rodriguez
